I think you can join every race apart from the events which take place at the Rockingham track.

To join you just have to join the server on time. You can find the password for the server below this chatbox.

Good luck!

Formula 1 Series Finale at Aston National
youliftyoulose, Monday, October 29 2012 - 07:25:52 // comment: 1

The 6th and final race with the BF1 in the F1 series took place at Aston National. Only 11 drivers were prepared to take
part in the final race. Mazdarati put his car on the pole being the only car in the 1:22’s. Bandes would join him on the
front row with Black and Daniel filling row two. While Mazdarati had pretty much clinched the series title, 2nd, 3rd and
4th were still to be decided between Bandes, Black and Daniel.

Mazdarati eating Black's dust as they take T1 a bit wide on the opening lap.

Team mates Gutholz and Knistling battle for 4th and 5th.

Stave and Mazdarati trying to occupy the same part of the track on the final lap.

A familiar car crosses the finish line first. This one has a different driver this time as Daniel claims only his 2nd victory ever!

As the drivers made their way into T1, Black (3rd) made a bold move for the lead as he took the inside of the sweeping right hander.
Unfortunately, he and Mazdarati touched causing both cars to run wide and made a short trip through the gravel. Both cars were
undamaged and continued occupying the last two spots in the race. Daniel slid nicely into 2nd and took up the chase to Bandes, now 1st.
Steve, also pleased with his good fortune, was eager to get by Daniel. He may well have done so had it not been for a tap in the gearbox
he received from torberkel as they prepared for the long back straight. The tap sent Steve into the gravel. He managed not to beach
his car but found himself back in 10th as he got back on the tarmac.

Black’s troubles would continue on lap 2 as he missed his braking point and spun his car on the grass at the hairpin. A little tap from
an unsuspecting Gutholz made sure he did not return to the track too quickly. He had just worked back to 5th only to fall back in 10th
with all the work to do again.

By lap 5 Mazdarati had regained all the positions he had lost except for Bandes and Daniel and was closing fast on his team mate.
Unfortunately he failed to navigate the tricky chicane at the end of lap 8 and put his car into the wall. He tried to carry on but the
damage to his right suspension was hindering his progress enough that he decided to pit for repairs. The unscheduled stop left him
back in 10th, one place behind Black.

Up at the front Bandes was slowly but surely pulling away from Daniel, opening up a 14 second gap at about ¼ race distance.
Given his pace it was possible that Bandes had chosen a light fuel load and was planning for a two stop strategy, similar to the
one that Black had done successfully in the last race. Three laps later, Bandes was in the pits for fuel, confirming that he had
gone out with a very light car. As he left the pits for his 2nd stint, Daniel assumed the race lead with a small 3 second lead.

For the next 12 laps Bandes and Daniel pretty much matched each other’s pace with the lead never growing to over 5 seconds.
As Daniel got close to his one pit stop, Bandes had closed the gap to under 3 seconds.

Daniel, Mazdarati and Black all made their pit stops at the end of lap 26. Bandes was now out in front of Daniel by 22 seconds.
He did have one more pit stop to complete. Could he build enough of a gap to come out in the lead? Two laps later we found
out. Bandes made his final pit stop and returned to the race with a 5 second gap over Daniel. Seeing the small gap from Daniel
o Bandes, Mazdarati radioed his team mate to “get on with it and catch Bandes”.

Luck was on Daniel’s side today as Bandes passed through the chicane a back marker had dislodged the tire barrier in the
center of the racing line. Bandes had to check up for the obstruction. This allow Daniel to get a run on Bandes and take the
lead going into the last 14 laps. Bandes, confident that he had the pace to regain 1st, slowly began to close up on Daniel.

On lap 36 Bandes got a good run on Daniel and pulled along side him as they raced down the front straight. Bandes would
have had the pass made if it were not for a computer glitch that caused a “phantom” collision even though the cars were
quite far apart. Unfortunately Bandes suffered the worst of it and went into a spin. He was still in 2nd as he returned to the
race. Bandes, frustrated by the turn of events, lost focus and soon fell into the clutches of Steve and Mazdarati. A few laps
later, after missing the chicane he decided to retire.

As the race came to a close, Mazdarati (3rd) was in hot pursuit of Steve (2nd) who had once again made a remarkable
recovery from his poor start. Try as he might, Mazdarati was unable to get by Steve, although there was much discussion
after the race regarding Steve’s “defensive tactics”. Steve and Mazdarati came into contact on the last lap of the race
allowing Black to get into 3rd.

Daniel held on to win only his 2nd ever victory. Steve took 2nd with Black in 3rd. While Mazdarati had already won the
championship, the win moved Daniel into a tie with Black at 73 points. Unfortunately for Daniel, Black had more podium
finishes and was given the 2nd place trophy, with Daniel left to claim 3rd.

Tortoise Hare Racing captured the constructors’ title.

See you at the 14th season of S2 at Fern Bay Green.
