I think you can join every race apart from the events which take place at the Rockingham track.

To join you just have to join the server on time. You can find the password for the server below this chatbox.

Good luck!

Hi

anyone have a good setup for FZ5 Westhill?

I got a setup from the setup grid, but I am 17 seconds of the WR time. This is my first time driving the FZ5 and the first time on Westhill. It feels like this car got a bad deal, it suffers from massive understeer and trying to get out of it will result in massive oversteer and when I do manage to go around the track without falling of, the tyres melt within 5 laps!

Thanks in advance

there is a setup for FZ5 at Fern Bay in The Great Setup topic on the left column of this page. Also keep in mind the restriction required for the FZ5 race, for new racers /4 (10% air intake I think). There is a thread with the FZ5 cup restriction for the next race.

That is what happened to me, use the TC (slower but better) and also practice, make the Real Anti-roll Bar very Soft and you might be able to do, after all Practice, practice and practice, i am barely doing under 2 minutes but i practiced quite a lot! you saw mazda on !Top he has done 1:53 but with 10 percent of restriction because the race was planned to be the first of the season

Great, thanks for the reply's

Even with the TC on, I dish out Kentucky rounders and melt the rears. I only recently got S2, I have done plenty XFG+XRG at Blackwood, but this FZ5 is getting the better of me!

Is there any leagues or seasons starting that uses xfg or xrg. Feels like it's the only cars I can drive

dont loose hart i mised the firt two cup racees cos i thought it was undrivabel but the lerning curve is almost vertical and once you can tiptoe the fz around the likes of the lx are somuch more fun. see you at the back of the grid with greek, the cola boys and us BHA.

Hi jaco1981

I wasn't sure if posting my setup is good idea but here it is. I created this very early alpha stage setup after years of absence from LFS so it probably doesn't make much sense... In general I don't like oversteer and try to create rather stable setup then super fast so it might be worth trying. Of course how to set up the car is very personal thing and you may find it worse then yours. As for tyre wear... looking pretty good, they get bit hot (74C) in places on lap 5-8 but on long straights temp drops enough to drive safely. Not sliding is the key for any racing tyre so focus on nice lines, do not go too fast into corners because you will kill these tyres, you have to roll it nicely through apex. It's heavy car, low grip tyres so in long run it will reward you. Whatever you do... try not to slide, lift if you have to but all steering inputs should be smooth and progressive rather then abrupt. Oh yes.. one more thing.. TC is disabled because like The Meister said.. it's slowing you down and isn't really helping too much with stability either. Good luck if you decide to try it though.

Look if you are using a wheel in corners press the throttle smoothly do not just go pedal to the metal or no throttle. also do not turn like an idiot turn smoothly and do not overturn the steering wheel cause you can go wide (See me thanks to mazda i improved ) now i use mouse my throttle and brake input just sucks... you probably use a wheel which means that in braking use half brakes (no lock ups) so not 'pedal to the metal' in brakes, turn the wheel a bit, and the car will go were you want, too much you oversteer/understeer (really not fun) but last PRACTICE PRACTICE and for the throttle go pedal to the metal when you can but not in corner entries/exits/mid-corner except if it is the last chicanes were you go full throttle and last DO NOT FOLLOW RACING LINES THAT GAME GIVE you follow the black things that are actually outside the racing lines (4)

I've been teaching this track for 2 days now. 1.58.48 might be my best and I just can't get it faster. I've tried different setups but just can't do it, captain. I think it's the mouse+keyboard thing. Don't know... Racing for the last standings I see

Hhahaa, I'm a sucker for punishment, I keep coming back, get mad, leave, come back and start again.....I thought when I got S1 that the lx cars was hard, lol, nothing could prepare me for this!
I think I will join Sunday night, but at the back, just cruise along, lol

Thanks for the setup, will give it a spin and see. Not sliding is the problem at the moment. I gave my setup heavy negative camber on the front to try and keep it from understeer, but that didn't help much. Running with 10% restriction does help a bit, takes the edge of.

Yes, I'm using a wheel, am trying to be as smooth as possible, I sit at the end of my seat, just just touching the wheel, it is so intense my neck goes into spasm, and when I take my eyes of the screen just for a .0000 of a second, its into the sand. I had to shut my pc down last night, was afraid I mifght damage my wheel out of frustrated

BTW, I click the link to the server, but my LFS don't start. When I enter the server name and password manually, I get a msg :Wrong password"?
